We had an awesome time in Mexico last week with my family. My parents took all of us, including my brother and his family on a week long vacation to Isla Mujeres Mexico. The island is a 15 minute boat ride from Cancun and is only 5 miles long and 1/2 mile wide. Perfect for families with small children. Everything is within walking or golf cart distance. The hotel we stayed at was small and very intimate with beautiful grounds, that included a hammock garden. It was also a few hundred feet from the gorgeous water and beach.

Our plane ride there and back was pretty uneventful, Emma slept both ways and didn't seem to have any problems with the pressure change. When we got to Mexico, it was HOT HOT HOT!!!! I stripped E down to her diaper, before she melted into a little puddle of Emma. While we were there, Tropical Storm Dolly rolled in for about a day and a half. Andrew and I were out sightseeing on the golf cart when she first hit! We were completely drenched! And had a 20 minute ride back to the hotel with rain and sand blowing sideways. The waves were pretty impressive and gave us quite a show.

After Dolly cleared out we had beautiful sunny days for the rest of the trip, oh and did I mention it was HOT?! Most of the time we hung out on the beach between naps, ate, read books, ate, and napped. It was a very relaxing trip. Andrew, Mom, Kristy and I all got to go swim with the dolphins one afternoon. It was a great experience, something that Andrew has wanted to do for a LONG time. We got to ride their dorsal fins, be pushed along by our feet (that was the coolest), along with some other up close and personal things. Those dolphins are pretty darn smart!

Andrew, Graham and my Dad went out one morning for a boys fishing trip. Everyone caught something and then we got to eat one of the fish for lunch. It was pretty good, but kind of weird that just an hour ago it was swimming happily through the ocean.
