We went to see Andrew's sister, Sarah, and her family in Atlanta over Memorial Day weekend. Andrew had a 4 day weekend and I took a couple extra days off so that we could go. We had a FABULOUS time with the Weber's and can't wait to get back. We also really liked the Atlanta area, especially the town that Sarah lives in. She's about 10 minutes from a very large lake, there are nice trees and hills everywhere. Both Andrew and I said that we could see ourselves living there, and just might some day soon!

We got in late Thursday night about 1030. The flight was pretty short at 1hr 20 min and Emma did great. She ate on take off and then slept the rest of the flight. Sarah and Tyler (Andrew's nephew) picked us up at the airport and then we headed to their house, about a 45 min drive.

Friday we got up and just hung around the house and nborhood all day. The boys played in a kiddie pool in the backyard, while Sarah, Emma and I chatted on the porch. It was a beautiful day about 80 and mostly sunny. For lunch we had chicken from a restaurant called Zaxby's. It was delicious!! Wish we had one up here. We took a walk to one of the parks in their nborhood just up the street. It's a very nice park and the boys wanted to push Emma around in her stroller most of the time. That night we had pizza, watched the cubs game and mingled with the nbors.

Saturday we went boating on Alatoona Lake. It is a beautiful lake, the water was very clean and it didn't seem overly crowded; especially for a holiday weekend. This was the first time we had ever been on Dan and Sarah's boat and it is really nice. Of course Andrew drooled all over it, so it did need a good wash down by the end of the day :) The water was a little cool, but very tolerable. I got to do a little swimming with Emma, which was a first for me. She did good once she got used to the water. We had excellent sandwiches and hummus for lunch from Publix. Later in the afternoon some of Sarah's friends met up with us on their boat and by the time we were ready to leave 2 more friends had docked up with us. On our way back home, we got some steaks and chicken (for me) for the grill and had dinner with the Weber's friends.

Sunday Dan made us breakfast, it was delicious! We then headed out to their 30 acres of land they recently bought. It was about an hour away from their house and 10 or 20 minutes from the Alabama border. There is nothing on the land but lots of hills, trees and some cleared paths for 4wheeling. Dan, Andrew, Jake, Tyler and I all went 4wheeling while Sarah stayed in the car with Emma. We had a great time going up and down the hills, they were pretty steep in some places. We finished our ride with PB&J's at the car and then headed back home and went to the pool. It is a very nice pool with a kiddie area, a slide and a watering mushroom. All the nbors were there so we hung out for a while, took Emma for a dip and snacked a little bit. For dinner we went to this AWESOME mexican restaurant about 2 minutes from Sarah's. They have an outside patio that we ate on, it was a beautiful night, and excellent food. I tried their margaritas and they were quite yummy as well.

Monday we got up pretty early to head out for breakfast at the golf clubhouse in their nborhood. We were the only ones there so we got to enjoy a nice quiet breakfast outside overlooking the golf course. Then it was off to the airport. Emma did great on the ride back as well!

Thanks Dan, Sarah, Tyler and Jake for a GREAT time, we can't wait to come back!

8 month and Mother's Day pictures

Emma did great taking the pictures this time, she was all smiles. Andrew come along to help get her to smile, especially for the ones taken with me. She's very hesitant to smile at people she doesn't know.

We've got TEETH!!!!

Ok, well actually just one tooth but still.

This morning I was sitting with Emma and she opened her mouth to laugh and I thought I saw something. I stuck my finger in her mouth and bam! there it was a tooth! I was really excited and I think she was too. We called Andrew right away, he was pretty psyched as well.

Emma hasn't been really fussy or anything, but she has been drooling a little bit more than usual. I hope all her teeth come in so easily :)

I'll post more about out trip to Atlanta (our future home) when I get a chance, and Sarah sends me her pictures :)

Happy Mother's Day to me!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day with Andrew and Emma. The morning started out with breakfast in bed. I had OJ, and egg wrap and toast with jelly. It was delicious! We hung out for a little bit, then went to lunch and then I had to go to work :(

Yard Work

This weekend we went and got some plants and trees for our landscaping. I'm really excited about how it's all going to look when it's done. Andrew was able to get one tree in on the side of the house, and did the edging for the front bed. I love the trees we got and the bushes too. I think they are all going to look really nice once they are put it. While Andrew was doing the all the work, E and I supervised (Frank was there too) and Emma had her dinner on the front porch.

Walk in the park

The neighborhood to the north of us has a pretty nice playground that I wanted to check out the other day. It was a BEAUTIFUL day, not a cloud in the sky and 80 degrees. I didn't think it was so warm out, so E and I were a little over dressed. Opps! The walk over to the playground took about 10 minutes (which I was happy that it was so quick) and the facilities are really nice. I was a little disappointed they didn't have baby swings, but oh well. We found a little tree with some shade under it and sat in the grass for a while. It was so hot out I had to take E's arms out of the sleeves and tie them around her waist. I think she enjoyed touching the grass.
