Well there has been more crib drama, I guess it's kind of to be expected when you buy furniture on the internet. The original place we bought the crib at forgot to tell me that they no longer had anymore cribs in stock and that they would just be refunding my money. I found this out when I called them to confirm that they were going to ship me a new crib. This is a little bit of a problem because we have already received and put together the 2 matching dressers. Immediately I jumped on the internet and found two other places that have the crib in stock and the price was just about the same. So I ordered the crib and it arrived this past Thursday in much better shape! I have gone through all the pieces and I think this one is a keeper! So, we finally have the completed baby furniture set we originally ordered.

At the same time we are waiting on getting the bedding we ordered from JC Penney's. The bedding was supposed to be shipped from the factory and said it had a expected ship date of June 29th. I ordered it 2 almost 3 weeks ago and of course in that time period my curiosity was peaked and I had to see if I could find the bedding anywhere else. I found a website that has the same bedding set but it comes in a 6 piece set instead of a 4 piece set (like the one from JCP) and it cost the same amount! Plus they had some other really cute accessories like a light switch cover that I really wanted. However, for some reason (must be the hormones) I was willing to give JCP a chance to get me my delivery in a timely fashion. So I waited until the 29th and when the status of my order hadn't changed I called them to see when it would be sent and they told me the 3rd of July. At this point I'm like screw this, it costs more and the new website says they can have it shipped out on the 2nd (I know it's only a day....but damn it it's a day!). So I cancelled the JCP order and placed my new order to be shipped out on the 2nd! Plus I'm getting the 6 piece set (fitted sheet, comforter, bumper, bed skirt, valance and diaper holder) AND a 2nd valance AND a light switch cover AND a really cute matching fleece blanket all for the price of a 4 piece set and extra valance from JCP! I love it when a great deal comes together!

Last weekend we also went and got our travel system for the baby. My parents wanted to buy us a car seat/stroller combo and the one we wanted was on sale! So we went to Babies R Us and picked up the travel system and a 2nd car seat base for the other car. We thought that originally Babies R Us didn't have the extra bases in stock so we were going to have to buy one online. As we were about ready to leave I spotted a shelf with 3 bases on it. We were both really excited to have found the extra base (guess it's the little things in life). The minute we got home Andrew was putting together the stroller and had it all put together in less than 10 minutes. Good thing I've got him around because I'm still trying to figure out the instructions!

Andrew is gone this weekend on a boys trip to Wisconsin with my brother and a bunch of his friends. I went over to Kristy's last night and hung out with her and a bunch of her friends. It was nice to hang out with the girls for a night, and we had some pretty good food too! Today, I'm just hanging around enjoying having the house and Frank to myself (even though I miss my boy).

This past Tuesday I did have to take my 1hr glucose test to see if I have gestational diabetes. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I had to drink this orange stuff that is super sweet and tastes kind of like orange drink from McDonald's. I haven't heard anything back about the results, so I'm hoping that that's a good thing. I have my next ultrasound to check the baby's growth on Thursday, so I'm excited about that. It's always fun to see that baby!

Now that I look back on my week, I guess it was a busy one! I'm looking forward to this next week when I get to see Andrew on the 4th and then I have a 3 day weekend!

So close, yet so very far away

So we received the crib in the mail and as you can see the box was beat to hell. Most of the pieces inside were OK, except for the broken spindle and one other scratched piece. I can't believe how beat up the box was, so I had to take pictures of it. Needless to say they are shipping us another crib. The two dressers should be here today, and hopefully in better condition.

24 Weeks

Today I had my 25 week doctor's appointment and everything went good. My blood pressure is perfect and the baby's heartbeat was 152 (which is also great). The doctor is very happy with how things are progressing and she said it would be nice for me to stay on this course. I have another ultrasound in 2 weeks and then a check up the following week. Next week I have to do the 1hr glucose test, to check for gestational diabetes. Other than that I feel great and I can't believe that I'm almost done with my second trimester (#3 starts on July 1st!). This past weekend we ordered our baby furniture and bedding. The furniture has shipped and should be here later this week or so. I'm guessing the bedding will be about 2-3 weeks out. We also got out to Babies R Us and started our registry. It was a bit overwhelming, but I think we did a pretty good job. After registering we rewarded ourselves with dinner at Front Street, our favorite mexican place! We did decide to start telling people what the baby is, and it's a GIRL! The bedding that we bought is pretty obvious, so we figured that we couldn't hide it for much longer. Although we don't get to have the first grandchild, we do get to have the first grand-daughter for both sides.

The house is moving along slowly. The gutters have been installed and the yard has been graded, so we don't have two huge piles of dirt in our yard anymore. Our air conditioning has been installed, and just in time for several 90 degree plus days. We are slowly working toward our occupancy permit, and hope to have it by mid July.

Hi, we're here, we have arrived!

Ok, well needless to say the last two weeks have been pure chaos, so I hope you understand why I haven't posted anything recently. For once in our lives we were actually on time and it was amazing. We spent our first night in the house on Friday, June 1st. There wasn't a whole lot of furniture or really anything in the house that night, but damn it we stayed here! We did have to sleep on our blow up camping mattress, but it was totally worth it and it was only for one night. On the 2nd we had our new furniture delivered and moved all of our belongings that were either in storage or at Andrew's parents house into our house. I should probably back up a little bit and fill you in on what happened the week prior to moving in. My parents were in town for the week and came out to help us almost everyday. They were a HUGE help and I honestly don't think we would have been able to stay here on the 1st without them. My dad was Andrew's assistant, he put in lots of light fixtures and smoke detectors. My mom helped me clean and paint. Our kitchen is completely finished now with all the appliances hooked up and in working order. We have all of our carpet in throughout the house (it looks great!) The bathrooms are slowly coming together. We now have all of our toilets installed and working. We have one shower in the guest bath working and our shower just needs to be tiled and finished. All of our closets and pantry have the shelving installed, making it a lot easier to organize things. This past weekend we emptied and put away all of our moving boxes. Life is definitely starting to settle down.

This past Thursday, I had my ultrasound with the high risk doctor. Everything went OK and the baby was moving around like CRAZY! They were able to get the measurements that they needed and also discovered a potential issue. I have two arteries that supply blood to the uterus and they aren't performing at the level they should be. However, it didn't really seem to me that the Doc was that concerned about it. He did say that it could cause preeclampsia. I just have to go back in for another ultrasound in 4 weeks so they can measure the baby's growth. Other than that the baby looked very healthy, a little on the small side, but still very healthy.

On Saturday we went down to the river with our friends Joe, Jill and Graham, Kristy and Payton. It was a beautiful cloudless day and everyone had a great time hanging out on the boat. Andrew had even more fun whipping Graham and Joe around on the tube.
