Ode to the Bachelorette

My friend Morgan is getting married April 12th, so this past Saturday was her Bachelorette party. We had a very nice time, we went to Rock Bottom Brewery and then back to her house for gifts and drinks. Of course I picked up a little outfit for Morgan to wear on her big night out. She looked rediculous, but had a lot of fun!

Graham, Kristy and Payton came over Friday for a late Easter get together. I made my famous enchiladas, which were delicious and I have been working on a guacamole recipe too. I must say my guac is pretty damn good! After the kids went to bed the adults sat around and talked, played a little guitar hero and Kristy showed me some new blogging stuff.

Aunt Sarah sent Emma the cutest swimming outfit! She got a new swimsuit, sandals, cover-up and sunglasses. We put the sunglasses on right away and Emma actually did pretty good with them as long as we pinned her arms down :)

Easter 2008

This year Emma, Andrew and I went to Walter Payton's Roundhouse for Easter Brunch. They had quite the spread and the facilities were a little more spacious than our usual brunch at Meson Sebika. Emma looked very cute in her special Easter dress.

Emma doesn't looked that jazzed today because she wasn't. She was up in the middle of the night for about 2 1/2 hours (and so was I) and I don't think she's really gotten caught up on her sleep. I was only able to get one smile out of her. Oh well.

Last Friday Emma had her 6 month check up and everything went well. The doctor was a little concerned about her weight. She only gained 11 ozs in the last 2 months, so she wants us to add a scoop of formula to her breast milk bottles and head back in a month for a weight check. Emma did good with the shots and barely cried, she was pretty easy to soothe as well. Here are her stats at 6 months:

Weighing in at 10lbs 13oz

Head Circumference 16 inches

One last thing, my Grandma had a bad fall about 2 weeks ago and has taken a turn for the worst. Of course we are always hoping for the best, but I'm not so sure it's going to go that way. Please keep her in your thougths........

Emma had cereal for the first time over the weekend. Which means I succeeded in my goal of entirely breastfeeding her until she was six months old. I'm pretty proud of myself and the support Andrew has given me. Emma LOVED the cereal! She ate everything we gave her and wanted to feed herself. I was amazed that she knew what to do with the spoon. She did make a little funny face on the first bite, but after that she couldn't get enough! I got bananas and avacados and I'm waiting for them to get ripe so I can make some more baby food for her.

Screw a bottle, I want a CUP!

Emma has been reaching for our water bottles and knows just what to do with them. So I decided to give her a cup with some water in it. I don't think she ever gets to the water but she does have fun pretending to use the cup. Plus it provides hours of entertainment; who needs toys!

Ooooo, this is fun!

Emma found something new to play with on her exersaucer. She had a lot of fun reaching out to the star to grab it and then putting it in her mouth. I was imagining it as a big lolly pop, she was so cute!
